Dear Friends of Hope,
We are looking forward to another academic year coming to a successful end. Our last day of school is July 10th.
I would like to say a very big thank you to all our sponsors and partners in the U.S. for their tireless efforts in making it possible for the 1300+ students of Hope to acquire knowledge and skills for the future through quality education. I am forever grateful.

Senior Stories
Kadie and T. Matthew are 2 of the 218 seniors in the Class of 2024. They were asked about their favorite memory while at Hope International and their dreams for the future.
Kadie Rogers | Age 20
“My favorite memory is the teaching at Hope International. What I am receiving here is so impactful and will always be remembered. I want to become a medical doctor to help diagnose and treat people and save many lives.”
T. Matthew Wiah | Age 19
“I will always remember the moment of climbing the stairs of these beautiful buildings to my wonderful classroom every morning. I want to become a public administrator. A dream I am going to pursue after high school when I have the opportunity.”
You gave to help support 12 graduates starting businesses
Staff of Hope International has recently completed interviewing graduates from two of our on-site vocational programs, Sew Much Hope and Cooking Up Hope. As you can see from the stats of both programs, we received good news.
The number one barrier to increasing income for Sew Much Hope graduates was not having their own machine. We put the need out to our generous Hope community and a group of you came together and your collective gifts made it possible for 12 graduates to receive their own machines.
Hope is Cooking
Cooking Up Hope graduates had their own good news to share. Students are learning to cater and bake for customers as well as be work-ready for the growing restaurant/hotel industries in Liberia.
Our deepest gratitude to Project Redwood, the grantor who generously awarded us 4 grants that funded the formation and continuation of our three, on-site vocational programs Sew Much Hope, Cooking Up Hope, and Power of Hope.
Bini Continues His Family’s Legacy
Hope board member Bini, together with his family, has been supporting a medical fund for the staff of Hope International since July 2021. Their generosity has paid for former Hope International vice principal Naomi’s kidney disease treatment and former janitor and crossing guard Joe’s hospitalization after a spinal injury (both pictured below). As well as emergency hospital visits, funerals, and family expenses following early deaths of staff.

Care From Two Sides of the World
Hope Project partner Stacy is funny, warm, and interesting. She is a mushroom hunter and a handcrafter. Stacy has cared for women in her community for the past 19 years through nursing and midwifery.
Aside from all these amazing things, Stacy has quietly created the opportunity for Ruth to attend nursing school in Liberia.
Stacy has based her practice around “if you take care of the mother first, the family will be healthy.”
Two strong and beautiful women who are and will be supporting mothers from two sides of the world.
Sweet 16 Years of Hope
On March 30th, so many of you gathered and gave and together, celebrated the sweetest of 16th birthdays. The night was magical. Your collective generosity raised nearly $80,000 in one-time, new and increased recurring gifts to support the educational dreams of the 1300+ students at Hope International.

Longtime Hope partner Barb Andre-Van Lith, along with the Wenatchee Women's Poker League, hosted a poker night that raised nearly $3,600 for Hope.
Hope partners come in all ages. Miles, Leo and Charlie spent their Saturday setting up and running a lemonade stand. They generously donated their proceeds of $50 to Hope.
Amy, a longtime friend of The Hope Project, threw a pool party and raised over $800 for Hope International's Graduation Before Procreation program that provides students access to family planning education.
Introducing Our Newest Board Member
If you attended our Sweet 16 celebration, you were lucky to share in an authentic Liberian meal prepared by Chef and Owner of Gold Coast Ghal Kitchen Tina Fahnbulleh. We are also honored to have her share her time and talents as she joins Hope’s Board of Directors.
Tina became familiar with Hope as she worked with us at our last two events by using her culinary and cultural influences to make them special. Our Board of Directors approached her to see if she would be interested in joining. Born in Liberia and raised in Ghana, Tina will be a unique asset to the stateside board.
